EMMAÜS EUROPE |

NEW IDENTITY

Emmaus Europe is a group of 260 European aid organisations created in 2005 under the aegis of  Emmaus, a charity founded by l'Abbé Pierre. The visual identity of the group is a metaphor for solidarity. The letter 'e', interlaced with the European star, represents the actions taken by the charity to help people in need and to tackle social exclusion and discrimination across the continent. The dim light of the composition suggests Rembrandt's painting Supper at Emmaus, a 17th century representation of a biblical scene in which two of Jesus's disciples come across Christ resurrected, his face bathed in surreal light. The logo has been incorporated onto a wide array of communication materials such as brochures, stationary, T-shirts, business cards, and the Internet website, fully revamped by Studio LWA.
Poster 1 : While 2010 was declared 'Year of the War against Poverty' by the European Union, the charity organisation Emmaus has been providing relief for populations on the breadline for over 60 years. The poster and its interlaced typeface design highlights the key actions taken historically across Europe by the organisation.
Poster 2 :Emmaus Europe is a group of 260 European aid organisations created in 2005 under the aegis of  Emmaus, a charity founded by l'Abbé Pierre following the harsh winter of 1954. The poster announces the 4th edition of a regional assembly meeting organised to review the recent actions taken and discuss future projects. The trompe-l’œil composition features a ballot paper held by a hand in the process of casting a vote. The graphic design of the poster pays tribute to the people involved in Emmaus Europe, a charity organisation where every volunteer counts and makes a difference. Poster 3 : Emmaus Europe is a group of 260 European aid organisations created in 2005 under the aegis of the main charity Emmaus. The visual reflects the wide scope of actions of the association founded by l'Abbé Pierre : with its expressive and lively design, it highlights the economic, social and environmental alternatives offered by the organisation. The brightly coloured city and its enthusiastic people represent the spirit of solidarity and the core values of the charity.
