MUSE

Dimensions : 0,45 m X 2,1 m

At the 2008 edition of the Antiquarian Book Fair in the Grand Palais, an art installation called Muse was greeting visitors on their arrival. Turned into a gigantic ship of paper for the Fair, the Grand Palais hosted in its nave this elegant and voluptuous bow-like model, a symbolic figurehead of the creative buoyancy fostered by the event. The model, covered (only) with names of famous authors and artists, seemed to be both paying her respects to the illustrious artists and watching over them at the same time. The nude female figure, standing on a green area, surrounded by plants, could almost be heard telling us that culture is the natural environment of human beings. The resin figure decorated with a composition of adhesive letters was selected to feature on the front page of a supplement to the Journal des Arts. This installation by LWA was also published in a coffee table publication of the Grand Palais, called Grand Palais, an unreasonable catalogue. The pictures of the installation were taken by Raphaël Gaillarde, while the well-crafted texts were written by renowned author and screenplay writer Tonino Benaquista. Materials : resin model, silkscreen print Dimensions : 0,45 m X 2,1 m
