LIVING STATUE

The International Rare Book & Fine Art Fair is celebrating its 10th anniversary within the halls of the Grand Palais in Paris. Over the years, this exhibition has become the world-leading event in the field of written heritage. To celebrate the children's library and heritage book collection "Heure Joyeuse", the fair's guest of honour, Studio LWA is paying tribute to "the art of childhood" though an ephemeral living sculpture housed once again under the vaulted ceiling of the Grand Palais: a young man, completely immobile, posed like a statue on its plinth with an antique tome in his hand, engages visitors at the entrance to the fair. Those looking closely will see that the living statue is not as still as he seems; the imperceptible movements he makes are only visible over time, alluding to the antiquarian bookstore and its eternal youth, as vibrant and dynamic as ever.
